Error in starting the reporting services
Hi!
I am having a problem in starting the reporting services. When I look at log entry it shows me the following error.
Description:
The C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\RSReportServer.config file failed to load. This error may occur if the XML is not valid.
The other services (SSIS, SSAS ) is running succesfully. Why am i getting this error?
Thanks,

It is possible that someone edited the RSReportServer.config file and made a mistake. Russel Loski, MCT

Hi,
Based on the error message, it is caused that the configuration file is invalid. So, have you modified and backup the
RSReportServer.config file before?
If so, please restore the configuration file at first and then restart Reporting Services.
However, if you still need to modify the configuration manually, please read the article
How to Modify a Reporting Services Configuration File at:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630448.aspx
Additionally, please make sure the file is for correct version of the Reporting Services(SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 configuration files are incompatible with
SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 or R2).
For more information about the
RSReportServer Configuration File, please refer to:

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
