Error id 8214
Hello,
We are trying to configure Sharepoint 3 (version 12.0.0.6421, hosted on a Win2008R2 x64 server called intra). His database is hosted on a SQL 2005 Server called SQL (names are fictive).
This sharepoint has to be connected with a Reporting service, hosted on a Win2008R2 x64 server name infct. This report server seems correctly configured from what the Reporting Service Configuration Manager shows (most of point are green).
The problem is, when trying to access to Reporting from INTRA (sharepoint), we got the error
An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode. --> The request failed with the error message:
<html><head><title>Object moved</title></head><body>
<h2>Object moved to <a href="http://infctris1-01/_layouts/error.aspx">here</a>.</h2>
</body></html>
Additionnally, the event logs shows the following error :
A request was made for a URL,
http://intra , which has not been configured in Alternate Access Mappings. Some links may point to the Alternate Access URL for the default zone,
http://intra . Review the Alternate Access mappings for this Web application at
http://servername:portnumber/_admin/AlternateUrlCollections.aspx and consider adding
http:// intra as a Public Alternate Access URL if it will be used frequently. Help on this error: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=114854.
And, on the server hosting Reporting Service , I also get a 8214 error, with only one thing changing; the URL to add:
A request was made for a URL,
http://intra , which has not been configured in Alternate Access Mappings. Some links may point to the Alternate Access URL for the default zone,
http://intra . Review the Alternate Access mappings for this Web application at
http://servername:portnumber/_admin/AlternateUrlCollections.aspx and consider adding
http://infct as a Public Alternate Access URL if it will be used frequently. Help on this error: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=114854.
When I try to hit the Report server (http://infct/reportserver) I'm redirected to
http://infct/_layouts/error.aspx :
Server Error in '/' Application.
Runtime ErrorDescription: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->
<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->
<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>
I tried to change the customError mod to On, Off, RemoteOnly, nothing changed.
Here are my substitution access mapping from central administration :
http://intra
Default
http://intra
http://infct
Default
http://infct
http://intra:37605
Default
http://intra:37605
I tried so many things, spent so many time... I really wish to find a solution.
In advance, many thanks four your help. I doubt you will need additionnal informations to help me, so don't hesitate to ask.

The best thing to do is to assume nothing and check everything twice, following a complete installation and configuration guide. Give your technologies in play here (SQL 2005 & SharePoint 2007), the best thing to do is to start here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sharepoint/archive/2007/02/19/microsoft-sql-server-2005-sp2-reporting-services-integration-with-wss-3-0-and-moss-2007.aspx
I trust that answers your question...
Thanks

Hello Cornelius,
Thanks for your answer. I already read the link you given, and it seems I did everything fine...
But, I found something special ;
Everything works fine from (and only from) INTRA ! Clicking "Report Data Source" drive me to the correct page.
But, when clicking this link from every other place, it gives me an error page...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
