Error after applying SP2 - PagesListCPVEventReceiver: Access is denied
Hi,I am experiencing a problem that I am pretty sure is related to SP2. I have been able to reproduce this on several boxes. No custom code, features or solutions are deployed to this boxes. The initial setup is MOSS with SP1 (and infrastructure updates), Windows Server 2003 SP1, .NET Framework 3.0 SP1, NTLM, x86.ThisI what I did: 1. Create a new site collection named "Portal" (I use CMSPUBLISHING#0). You can also use an existing one.2. Access the portal with a user that is member of the SharePoint Group "Portal Owners" (this user should not be a member of the farm administrators group)3. Create a new publishing (simple) sub-web --> The web is created, no errors in the event logNow, install SP2 (WSS+MOSS, run the configuration wizard). Then reproduce step 2 and 3 above. The result is that the sub-web is successfully created, but now I have two occurances of the error detailed below in the eventlog. Everything seems to work fine though. Worthmentioning is, that if i do the same thing with a user that is member of the farm adminsitrators group, I get no error. The ULS log doesn't provide much more detailed information.Anyone else has experienced this?Event Type: ErrorEvent Source: Windows SharePoint Services 3Event Category: General Event ID: 6875Description:Error loading and running event receiver Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.PagesListCPVEventReceiver in Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c. Hi Did you turn on the major versioning? If so, this is a known issue and you can ignore this message as it will not affect any SharePoint function. To work around this issue, please follow these steps: 1. Open the SharePoint Central Administration Web page. 2. Click Operations, and then click Diagnostic logging. 3. In the Select a category box, click General under Event Throttling. 4. In the Least critical event to report to the event log box, click None. 5. In the Least critical event to report to the trace log box, click Verbose. 6. Click OK. For more information, please refer to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948323 Hope this helps. Lu Zou

HiI solved the problem. No sp 2 fixed the problem. The problem was fixed by turning off item scheduling on the pages list as I don't use scheduling anyway. Now I don't get this error anymore.

I get this error when I trying to create a new publishing page. If I can't figure out anything soon then I will be calling Microsoft for the support as this is happening on our production server.
