Error When Opening SharePoint Page to edit it in SharePoint Designer 2007
I have one workstation on my network that when opening WSS 3 web files in SharePoint Designer 2007 I receive the error"could not load file or assembly 'sorttbls.nlp' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." I've looked through some forms on the web and have concluded that it is a .NET Framework 2 problem but I've not been successful at fixing the problem. It also seems to be keeping me from loading the Update ServicesAdministrative consoleon this one workstation using MMC. Other workstations on my network can open/edit SharePoint web site files in SharePoint Designer 2007 without this error and can open the Update Services Administrative console withpout errors. I've tried a repair on .NET 2. Would anyone have suggestions on another approach to fixing .NET? I have a combination of XP Pro,Vista and WIN 7 machines on this domain and the problem is with just one XP Pro machine. I have other XP Pro machines that I have SharePoint Designer 2007 installed on that are not having this problem. This machine just started doing this recently so I'm sure it's not anything to do with the SharePoint web site or the other workstations would not be able to edit site pages. Does SP Designer 2007 rely on .NET Framework when editing SharePoint web pages? I posted this question on this form http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_programs/couldnot-load-file-or-assembly-sorttblsnlp-or-one/b304642f-a986-4061-a7d2-56c77ddcbcec?page=1&tm=1341762393452#footer and Alfa S suggested to post here on this form. Thanks for any suggestions. JeffTeel Network

Hi, I've searched the sorttbls.nlp file in my computer, and find that this file should be a component of the .NET Framework 2. Also I find some information in the AMD support website: The AMD Catalyst Control Center requires that the Microsoft .NET Framework SP1 be installed for Windows XP and Windows Vista. Without .NET SP1 installed, the AMD Catalyst Control Center will not launch properly and the user will see an error message. When installing the AMD Catalyst driver for Windows operating system, the user must be logged on as Administrator or have Administrator rights to complete the installation of the AMD Catalyst driver. Please refer: You canhttp://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst112ReleaseNotes.aspxTry the steps below to resolve this problem. Firstly, please go to Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program -> Turn Windows features on or off, If the checkbox of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 is not been selected, then select it and click OK. If the checkbox of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 is been selected, unselect the checkbox first, click OK. Then open the Turn Windows features on or off again and select Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, click OK. Then, please try to install the AMD Catalyst Control Center again. If the above steps still not working, please perform the steps in this blog to fix the .NET Framework 2.0 in Windows 7: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2007/03/26/how-to-repair-the-net-framework-2-0-and-3-0-on-windows-vista.aspx Please refer: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/netfxsetup/thread/c59fcdf6-607d-42e9-a118-149da2365b6fThanks,Lhan Han
