Error Preventing a List From Receiving E-mails
Hello Community, I have a list that is configured to receive e-mails. The list has been working fine for months with no issue. Then suddenly it stopped working and now I am receiving an error. I have posted the essential error information below. Has anyone seen this error before? Do you know what the cause/cure is? 0x0568 Windows SharePoint Services Web Parts 89a2 Monitorable InnerException 1: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: List does not exist The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. Wondering, Tom, if this is a workflow question. It seems to me that configuring a list to receive e-mails is Admin and that problems with it are therefore also admin. Do you still want this post to stay in the workflow forum ? Hey Mike, I think you are right, maybe it's better to post to the Administration forum. Should I delete and repost or can you move it for me? Thanks! Tom Tom Molskow - SharePoint Architect - Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Award - Linked-In - SharePoint Gypsy Moderator Note: I'll move it (and Ginni, I don't mind pre-2010 questions answered here before they are moved to a more suitable forum - I do however object to answers to SP 2010 questions while the threads are still in a pre-2010 forum. clear?)

Hi, Now where should I reply? Ok, I will reply here. I am sure that you must have checked the list as soon as you saw this error so no use telling you to check the list. Just create one small console application and try to access the list using SharePoint Object Model. See that whether you are getting the same error or not. Hi Tom, Your problem may be caused by accessing the server from its IP address rather than its DNS name. there is another user encountered the same issue and the problem has been solved, you can refer to his thread and try the solution he provide: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sharepoint2010general/thread/150aca88-c32c-4dbf-9f79-638ae438d1a0. Hello Peng Lei, The administrator has checked this possibility but he reassures me that the DNS address is being used. Thanks! Tom Tom Molskow - SharePoint Architect - Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Award - Linked-In - SharePoint Gypsy

Hey Ginni, That's a good suggestion but unfortunately this is on the production system so we wouldn't be able to develop and deploy anything soon. Do you know of any stsadm commands that can be used to achieve something like what you are suggesting? Thanks! Hello, There is some more information I can share. We have two load balanced Web Front Ends, each running it's own SMTP server. We have noticed that one of the WFE's receives e-mail and the other doesn't. We have check both SMTP servers and both are running and configured the same. We think that it may be that one of the SMTP servers on one of the Web Front Ends is not trusted by Exchange and therefor, when the e-mail goes to that one it throw the error. We are still checking this but it may be the solution to the problem. Thanks! TomTom Molskow - SharePoint Architect - Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Award - Linked-In - SharePoint Gypsy

Hello, We found the issue, it was with the load balancer configuration, it did not have the proper IP for one of the SMTP servers, this caused the e-mail to bounce back whenever the round robin load balancer tried to send to that bad SMTP IP.
