Error During Check-in After Extended User Absence
Hello, I am having an issue with a MOSS 2007 install. The issue is as follows. 1. User opens a document managed in SharePoint and "Checks Out" the document. Now, some of the Libraries have Required Check Out on and some do not, but the majority do if they have any frequent activity. So, we can assume long-term check-out is being used. 2. After making a few edits, the user is called away, say 3+ hours. 3. User returns, finishes editing and attempts to save and check-in. 4. The user is presented with the error message stating, "This file cannot be saved because it is not checked out." If the document is checked-out in long-term mode, how can the user be losing the check-out? Conversely, what should we expect to happen if a user leaves a document or excel file open for great lengths of time in both short and long term check-outs? Thank you
