I'm receiving an error 1603 when installing KB977384. I tried to right-click and then install, tried to run as admin, nothing worked and the msi log file doesn't give much. Hi, I found my problem. It was caused by Trend Antivirus. I disabled all Trend services, rebooted and then apply the hotfix without problem. -Sylvain

I ran into the same error. I disable Microsoft Forefront client Security service. I was able to install the hotfix. Thanks for the previous post.Dean Chen
