Endpoint Protection Scheduled Scans on Battery Power

Endpoint Protection scheduled scans do not run when laptop is using battery power. This is a problem when trying to manage 1000's of laptops that are only plugged in when they are turned off and in their charging carts. How can I change this setting so the scans happen when the laptop is using battery power?

The scheduled task can be seen in Task Scheduler Library under Microsoft/Microsoft Antimalware only when the anti-malware policy setting "Start a scheduled scan only when the computer is idle" is set to YES. If this setting is NO, the system task hides and cannot be seen. If I look at this scheduled task I can see that there is a Power condition box checked to start the task only if the computer is on AC power. The box is grayed out and I cannot change the setting or find anything in the anti-malware policy settings that allows me to change this power setting.

Hi,

You cannot change that setting if I remember correctly, last time I faced this I turned of the schedule scan in Configuration manager 2012 and used a Group Policy Preference to deploy my own custom schedule task where you can control the power options as well.

Jrgen,

Glad to know I'm not missing a setting somewhere. I am going to have to figure out where to make a feature request or hope that someone from Microsoft reads this. Setting up a preference is a good work around.

Thank you,

You have a few option to have Microsoft see this.

If you do either of the last one, post the link back here, so that others can vote it up.
