I am in the process of transferring content from our old DP server to a new one in the same location/network. I am using the following method to clone it:

My question is I am now assigning the DP role to the new server and I am not sure if I should check the box "Enable this distribution point for prestaged content"? Before I start extracting the content to the new server I want to verify if I need this selected?  TIA

Doesn't matter. That setting is a bit misleading: enabling it prevents content from being automatically distributed to the DP. That's it. Content can still be pre-staged to DPs without it enabled.
