Enable local Database Accounts

Hi we are running SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 and have our SQL environment set to use Ad authentication and have disable local SQL accounts.

We now have a need to use the local accounts. What would be the implications of enabling mix mode authentication in our environment?

Thanks

Dan

None (only prereq checker will create a warning if you will be upgrading to a new service pack).

Thank you will try, perhaps I will take a snapshot first just in case.

Snapshot of what? The SQL Server itself? That's not supported and can cause data loss if you ever rollback.

As Torsten mentioned, there are no operational implications for this change as it simply enables an additional authentication method. ConfigMgr is completely unaffected. The reason for the warning in the pre-req checked is that this authentication method is generally considered weaker than AD authentication as it is not centrally controlled or audited. From a security perspective, not enabling this is a good thing.
