Empty net shared folder via VPN

Hello,

There is VPN connection from Win 7 to Win 2012 R2 server.
VPN connection is OK, but shared folder is mostly empty.
In such case, there is something about offline mode in status bar of Explorer, but we don't use offline folders.
In a while (~ minute) sharing starts working.

I found this article for setting higher latency limit, but it didn't help.

I please you for any recommendation

Thanks

Hi,

Could you let us know the exact status bar you mentioned? If it's possible, give us a screenshot.

How did you configure the higher latency limit?

Let's try to disable the caching on Windows 7 Client via the following registry settings:

Open regedit.exe and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters

Create the following REG_DWORD with the value =0

FileInfoCacheLifetime = 0

FileNotFoundCacheLifetime = 0

DirectoryCacheLifetime = 0

And then clear the specific cache file in the path below:

%SystemRoot%\CSC\

After that, restart the windows 7 machine to see if the issue could be resolved.

Thanks for your recommendations.

The notebook is not fully under my control, so it will take some time.

I will let you know the result.
