Email attachment maximum size for document libraries
I have a document library which is setup to allow emails to it. When sending an email with an attachment of 7 MB I get the following error: "Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists: 'doclibrary@mysharepointsite.com' This message exceeds the maximum message size allowed. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please make the message smaller -- by removing attachments, for example -- and try sending it again, or provide the following diagnostic text to your system administrator. The following organization rejected your message: mysharepointserver.com." Is this a problem with our internal exchange settings? Or is this a setting I can increase in the SharePoint central admin? Any help would be most appreciated.

This is an Exchange limit that needs to be changed. The SharePoint limit is take from the Maximum File Upload size setting in Central Admin which defaults to 50 MB so at 7 MB, you're most likely stopped by the mail server. I trust that answers your question... Thanks C http://www.cjvandyk.com/blog

Please check the receive connector (under hub transport) on your exchange server to verify the "Maximum Message size (KB)" is set higher than the size you are trying to send. Thanks, Stacy
