Email Notification if some FIM components fail?
Hi, How easy is it to configure FIM to email-notify the 'FIM-Admin' dude if something in FIM fails? For instance, if a workflow fails, or some MA sync/import/export fails? Is there any 'step-by-step' guide anywhere? thank you

Do you have something that will monitor event logs and send emails based on that? The errors relating to the portal should be turning up in the FIM application log. Errors relating to the sync service go in the regular application event log.http://www.wapshere.com/missmiis

Ah...something like SCOM with a FIM management pack springs to mind :-) Or as a last resort we look at the Event Viewer itself and attach an event (email) per FIM event. Thank you.

Before to go in the SCOM world you could just add the mail notification to the script that invoke your FIM Synchronisation Run. Have a look to the script originally wrote by Fabien Duchene and modified by Peter Lambrechtsen here : http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ilm2/thread/c7e204be-05b4-40e1-bf95-e0191a76ece3 Peter added email notification when something goes wrong during the Sync I have wrote mine from this good script to read Run sequence from an XML file (I will post it soon) Hope this helps Fabricehttp://www.iamthefrenchblog.com/

1. Create a set 'failed requests': All requests with Request status = PostProcessingError or Create a set 'failed workflows': All workflow instances with Workflow status = Terminated 2. Create an action workflow: send a notification 3. Create an MPR: Set Transition IN 'failed requests' or failed workflows' - do that action WF that's all. BUT! under some circumstances you can get a nice loop...
