Email Notification
Hello, I was able to send notification during a Password Reser to a static email address thanks to Anthony and Thomas. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ilm2/thread/9246ab38-f139-4e8e-9fbb-8fa18becd577 I need now to send this notification to the user doing/using the Password Reset. I saw the Parameter lookup with "Requestor" but I don't know if I need to add an Attribute and which one to get the email sent to the requestor which will be the account used during the process. Notice during reset, the requestor is AnonymousUser. You want to send a mail to the TargetUser. i believe [//Target] would just workThe FIM Password Reset Blog http://blogs.technet.com/aho/

Hello Anthony, I tried //Target and another email FIM@xxx. I reset my own password but only the second email address received the notification but not the one expected by the //Target which would have been my own email. Any value for the Parameter Attribute? How did you configure this? I haven't sent any notification based on request parameters before. If I edit the workflow activitity and type \\target in the recipient field I get a popup: "add workflow parameter lookup". There you can choose target, and optionally (is it?) a parameter attribute. Have you tried selecting ObjectID? Because probably the FIM workflow enging has to be able to resolve to who it needs to send the email, perhaps it does this based on objectID? Oh, and ofcourse your \\target has to have the email address attribute populated. But that's obvious.http://setspn.blogspot.com

I actually need this in the near future, so i went a head and tested it: In the Workflow configuration you get to the point where you select the recipients and the email template. Next to the recipients you can click the "lookup" button. Select "Target" and leave the other field empty. There is no need to select an attribute. If your subject has an email address configured, he will receive an email. At least it worked for me. http://setspn.blogspot.com

Hi Thomas, Yes I have the \\Target (should I try Target without the \\ if possible?) setup in the lookup and the account I reset is mine so I have an email attached to it. Let me try again. Any log to see where it fails? Thanks, Dom System Center Operations Manager 2007 / System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 Support

in fact it should should [\\Target] (in the field above the email template selected) I could add a screenshot here, but i've forgotten how I can post screenshots to these forums. I know there is an explanation somewhere... http://setspn.blogspot.com

Hello, I have [//Target] in the recipients, I have "_User Welcome Templates" in the Email template (it was working with static emails) but still not receiving email when resetting my password... I have "Active Directory Password Reset Activity" above "Send an Email Notification"... It works if only [//Target] is in the field not when I add a static meail behind [//Target]; xxx@xxx.com I would like to have now a cutomized template that I created already so I created also a cutomized WF "_Password Reset Action Workflow" identical first to "Password Reset Action Workflow" and then added the new template. Should I receive two emails now? one from the canned WF "Password Reset Action Workflow" and one from teh customized WF "_Password Reset Action Workflow"? As I'm not complete sure what you are trying to achieve an example of what I tested: In the recipients field I had "[//target];otheruser" Where the "otheruser" resolved to a known user in the portal. When the MPR triggers the workflow, the target of the MPR would receive the email (the [//target] user) and in the same time "otheruser" also gets that specific email. I'm not sure whether you can put an email address in the recipients field. I think you have to add a user object which has that specific email address in its email address attribute. But I can be mistaken here. Just make sure if you fill something in you click the green checkmark. Or use the object browser/lookup button in the first place... The green checkmark will validate your input.http://setspn.blogspot.com

Hello, I am trying again now and it says " Unable to process your request..." Please contact your help desk or system administrator> Go to Frefront Identity Manager Home Page" As the //Target works I will open a new thread with this error.
