I was wondering if there's a way to edit the 'Contribute' permission site wide? We would like to remove the ability for people to delete items that are shared with them.

To edit the 'Contribute' permission level in SharePoint online site.

Navigate to Site Settings->Site permissions->Permission Levels, click Contribute->Remove the delete items permission.

Does this do it for everyone though? I've tried that and it only seems to work for my account. We're looking for a solution that will work for everyone.
