Edit metatags in Datasheet mode
Hi. I have a document library in Sharepoint 2007. Within the library I have folders of a custom content type and inside those documents of a custom content type. Now, some of the metatags I use are lookup values defined on a list. If I want to do import of multiple files is there anyway I can set the metatag values either during import or afterwards using the datasheet mode? All files are to have the same values. I've tried opening the datasheet mode inside one of the folders, but everytime I try this I find myself "standing" in the top level document library (?). Thanks :o)

Set your view to display all items without folders. There should be a column indicating you the path of the current file in the folder hierarchy, all you then have to do is filter/sort on that column to get to the exact files.Nikolas Charlebois-Laprade Microsoft Certified Professional Software Engineer and Project Manager http://nikcharlebois.sharepointspace.com

Hi Nikolas. There's no column by default showing the path of the file, but that's ok. I think I got the rest working :o) Thank you for your answer. /Henriette

Hmm, not quite there yet. All my columns are "read only" in the above view. Anyone know how to get around that? /Henriette

Have you got mandatory check-in turned on or content approval turned on? If so, disable these for the bulk of your metadata assignment and datasheet view should work fine.Steven Andrews | SharePoint Professional | http://www.twitter.com/backpackerd00d | https://baron72.wordpress.com/
