Edit Sharepoint Page displays a red background in the Page Content Box when in Edit Mode
The Edit Sharepoint Page displays a red background in the Page Content Box when in Edit Mode, and the background becomes white again after editing has been completed. This is true on all of our web pages throughout our site. it's very difficult to see through the red background when editing the content. I presume something happened to our css page. I have reviewed the styles/core.css and the themes/classic/clas1011-65001.css files for any values which contain red, and none of them appear to be applicable to the background color tag. I'm not clear as to the inheritance of this value e,g. where the background color tag coming from, or where to change this setting. Can someone tell me where I should look to change this setting? Thank you in advance.

Hi, It could be in the Master Page being used as well. Best bet is to navigate to the Edit page in IE and use Developer Tools to help track the source. Best wishes, Eric

This is not a OOB behaviour. Most probably you have custom CSS file which is causing this issue. Thanks & Regards, Soumyadev | Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Thank you, This is where the problem resides: <DIV id=ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_Caption_ctl00_nativeHtmlEditorContainer style="PADDING-RIGHT: 30px; PADDING-LEFT: 30px; PADDING-BOTTOM: 30px; PADDING-TOP: 30px; BACKGROUND-COLOR: red"> I'm not clear where this markup is being pulled from. How can I trace this back to the source so it can be changed?

Hi, I would try 4 places: First, Navigate to the Edit page in IE and use Developer Tools; click HTML tab on left of screen, then Style on the right. Alternately, Open Master Page in SharePoint Designer; look for any reference to CSS files or CSS code. Open any custom CSS files you find in SPD and check. Open your Edit page in SPD and check. Good luck, Eric
