Hi Shayaan, If you get Access Denied error when make change to a site group, it means you dont have permission to modify this group. But Site Collection Administrator should have full control permission in all web sites with current site collection. So it is really strange problem, could you please kindly ask another administrator to check your permission again? And also ask farm admin to find more error details in ULS log (Located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\LOGS folder on SharePoint Server). How do I add or remove a member in a Group?

You cannot edit group membership for sites from within Central Administration, unless you're editing group membership for groups that are part of the CA site.
