I have an issue with my Sharepoint 3.0 Sites that I can't seem to figure out. Whenever; I go to "People and Groups" and then go to Settings > Edit Group Quick Launch it takes more than 2:00 minutes to load the "Edit Group Quick Launch" page. All other links within sharepoint seem to load fine (in a second or 2). There are no errors in event viewer or in in the sharepoint logs (Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\LOGS)

Hi, I didn’t experience this issue. It’s hard to say what the problem is. What I suggest you to do as following: 1. Create new site and check effects in this page. 2. Try to use a web debugging tool like “Fiddler”. Hope this helps Thanks! Stanfford

Everything seems to be OK when I run fiddler, I created a new site collection and the problem still exsits. Also I am running on a Server 2003 VM

HI, i am so sorry. no any useful information, it's hard to troubleshooting... can you try to enlarge your momery of VM and check the effect?

I have the same issue. WSS 3.0 on a 5-server farm (2 web, 1 index, 2 SQL). Also editing the group settings will occasionally take 2 minutes to submit a page. Finally validating users when adding them can take a long time. I suspect it's all related to access Active Directory but I don't know what the problem is.
