Hi,This thread has some information on the process to use for Essentials 2007:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/systemcenterinventory/thread/71559fd3-04bd-4ab6-882f-8cf4ec293212You will need to follow the instructions in the link provided at the bottom of the thread to create a new attribute. The attribute will need to use a WMI query to retrieve Win32_ComputerSystem.ModelAlternatively, you could look at Essentials 2010 (release candidate currently available) which makes this super simple. With Essentials 2010 the create group dialog in the Computers workspace will let you create a dynamic group based on model. (You can also create dynamic groups based on OU, Manufacturer, Operating System and Service Pack).ThanksRichardThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Sorry, I did not recied the mail notifying that Richard posted an answer. I do however have a proble creating a new attribute. It says "In the Essentials 2007 console, click Authoring. Right-click the Attributes node in the Monitoring pane and then click Create a new attribute. The Create Attribute Wizard starts." Where is the attribute node? Also, information on Manuafacturer and Model are allready collected. Can this information not be found in any of the existing classes? Thanks

Hi Check that you are in the Authoring workspace and not the Monitoring workspace. the Authoring workspace has the pencil and paper icon (use Ctrl+7 to navigate there). You will then need to expand the Management Pack Objects node in the navigation tree, and the first item under this is Attributes.Even though you can see the Manufacturer and Model in the Computers workspace, this information is not collected via an attribute, which is why you will need to create a new attribute.ThanksRichard This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
