Duplicate Machine records in VMWare View Environment
Hello everyone, We are currently working on a VMWare View VDI environment POC. We have built a "Golden clone" just installing the SCCM Client like normal. After snapping this Clone, and composing a pool of virtual machines, the machine accounts were placed in SCCM fine. I have noticed over the last 2 days, that the machine accounts seem to be duplicating in there a lot... I had 22 accounts for one of the machines. When a person logs off of one of the Virtual machines, it reverts back to its base snapshop it was cloned from of the snapshot of the "Golden" clone. (Hope I'm not losing you) Snapshot reversion as I know from many years with Workstation, doesn't cause any kind of account duplication within SCCM... or hasn't until now. So I guess my real question would be, is there any kind of preparation required to installing the SCCM Client into an environment such as this? I have read post where people talked about the old"delcert" command in sms 2003... but I haven't been able to find anything about 2007 in a VDI (specifically View) Environment. So is there some kind of switch I should be using to clear out something on the "Golden" image... or might there be something else going on? Thanks!!

I would suspect you need to do this to avoid duplicate GUIDs http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb694095.aspx John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|
