Dual DPM server single Tape Library

We currently have a single DPM server (2012R2 RU5) with 76TB of disk space connected to a tape library. As we are getting close to the 80TB limit we want to deploy another DPM server and have questions around it.

1) Can we move the local DPM DB to a shared SQL server and when we deploy the 2nd DPM server it will use the same DB?

2) Can we share our tape library between the two DPM servers?  We have a Dell TL4000 fiber channel dual drive system.

- we perform disk backups on the weekend and we want to setup where both DPM servers have access to and can write to tape.  Possibly each DPM servers controls a single a single  drive but the DPM database needs to be aware of which DPM server the backup occurs from or can restore to.

Other issues I'm not thinking of?

Thanks

Hi

as you can read here, SCDPM is Limit to 80TB Replica and 40 TB of Recovery Point size, so the Limit is 120 TB

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh758179.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

1) Each SCDPM Installation Needs a seperate Database

2) you can split your library between 2 SCDPM, but thats an Library, FC configuration, not a SCDPM.

Keep in mind, if you deploy 2 SCDPM Servers, they are 2 seperate installations and 2 seperate Configuration. If you backup a drive with SCDPM1 you cannot back it up with SCDPM 2
