Drop and Recreate Excel table using SSIS 2008
Hi,
I have a ssis package that Drop and Recreate Excel table. The package is as same as the example in http://samuelhaddad.com/2009/03/31/overwriting-an-excel-file-destination-using-ssis/. The
package works fine for Excel2003 file. Ater I converted the Excel template to Excel2007, It works fine on the 1st step "Drop table `Sheet Name`". It deletes the header row on the sheet. But it fails on the second step "Create Table". The error is "Table
'Sheet Name' already exists.".
Please help me to solve this problem.
Thanks much in advance!

My understanding you upgraded the template file to a newer version of Excel. And this was done outside the SSIS package, right? Then, most probably your connection is not updates, open the package up to refresh and/or validate it. You may want to use
PacMan (for speed) to do that. I suspect you you have the new/proper Excel driver installed.

I've always found the drop and create functions problematic in the past. I would suggest you use a blank template xls file which you perform a file copy on before loading your data. This method should be problem free and is also an easy way of retaining
excel formatting.
