Driver problem with a specific WIM
Hi, Here is the situation : I have one server, the correct drivers for Storage and Network, one task sequence and two WIMs. With the first WIM, evrything is going fine, it's Windows 2003 Enterprise X64. With the second one (Windows 2003 Standard X64), in the same task sequence, on the same server, I manage to install Windows, but when the server boot on the fresh installed OS, it looses network (no card installed), and so the installation failed. So I am looking for something in my WIM image preventing the driver to install... I use auto apply driver in both cases.

does the smsts.log file reveal any detail about the problem ? are you sure the nic is not detected ? at what point is it failing ? My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

I can't see something specific in the smsts.log. I just see that there no connectivity. I use a standard tas sequence. As long as I am booting on the installation.wim, there is no problem, but the first time I boot on the hard disk, after the OS installation, if I open a command prompt ans type ipcongig I have : Windows IP Configuration, and that's all. The TS try to go on, but with no network, it fails. When I restart the server after the failure, I can see that the OS is well installed, but I have the hardware assistant which prompt me to install the network cards.

well does the apply driver package contain X64 network drivers as well as the ones used by your x86 install ? My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

Yes I have two packages one for X86 and one for X64. The one for X64 is doing its job for the Windows Enterprise X64 WIM but not for the Windows Standard's X64 one.
