Drag and Drop doesn't work
Good day, community!

Tell me, please, what could be the problem ?:

When I move a file from the browser to the library files at Sharepoint 2013 website, the browser gives a standard message to save the file as if I'm trying to download it from this SP site.

IE11, Windows 8.1, Office 2013. Tried Chrome and Firefox - all the same.

It seems that somewhere at the site settings the Drag and Drop is disabled. Google is helpless - everywhere write that this is enabled by default, and just need a new browser. But I think that something wrong.

Hi Alexey,

Are you seeing the "drag file here" option in the library near to the new document ?

Few additional things to check..

1. See if the user have contribute permission ?

2. Are you trying to drag and drop individual files / entire folder (because folder drag and drop doesnt work).

Drag & drop usually works with the IE 9+ browsers or the browsers which can handle HTML 5.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Sivabalan!

Yes, I see "or drag file here" sign near the uppload button. User has all rights, and it can upload files with button or explorer. We try to drag and drop files only. Not folders.

I think.... maybe we need any plugin? On browser, or maybe an option should be enabled in our SP server?

Anil Avula, hi!

I've looked all these options, but all is fine. Users have permissions, site is in trusted list, IE11 and Chrome. Same result.

When I drag file to browser with opened SP library page, it asks me where I want to save it.
