The audit log tracks changes to changes to security settings against items, such as user/group events, and role and rights events, and who has viewed or worked on an item and who has downloaded or copied an item, essentially its the permission history on an item. I don't think it checks if a user was added to the site collection as that in itself gives them no rights to access anything. The UserInfo table contains information about the authorized users of a SharePoint site in order to track their activity on the site, but I don't believe the audit log tracks changes to the table itself. That doesn't mean I'm right though :) Regards John Timney
