Does anything need to change if the IP address changes on the SharePoint 3.0 serever
Hello,
I have a WSS 3.0 site on Windows Server 2003, and the IP address has changed for the server. Is there anything I need to do with SharePoint or IIS on the server?
In IIS, the site is using the TCP port 80 and the IP address is set to (All Unassigned). So, I don't see custom entries in the web application properties. It appears that IIS is using the new IP address. Where else should I look?
The SharePoint Central Admin comes up just fine on the server, but not the Sharepoint site (home page) when trying to open it from IE. A login dialog appears, but does not allow me to autenicate and I get a "You are not authorized to view this page". Before
the IP address changed, I could access the site from this server. From other workstations, the site comes up fine with no problems.
Thanks

Hi,
Would you provide more detailed information ?
1.
Have you tried change the IP address back ?Will the site show up properly ?
2.
Have you created
any hosts for your server in DNS
? After creating a host , users can use the host name to visit the site instead the server name .The host has bind to a specific IP address .So you should check the setting of
you DNS server .
3.
How do users from other workstation visit the site ?Use the server name or the host name ?
If you have add host in the DNS server and bind it to a specific IP ,then you should change the IP to the new IP address .
Thanks ,
