Does Software Assurance for SCE 2007 allow upgrade to SCE 2010
My organization purchased SCE 2007 with two years of software assurance exactly one year ago. Does this entitle us to SCE 2010? I do not see this under our Software Assurance benefits on the volume license site. I have contacted my
reseller who asked me to sign into the volume license site. I do not see a clear answer and am hoping that a MSFT moderator can provide some direction. I have searched other posts on the forum and do not find the answer to the question. Thank
you

Hello,
SCE 2010 isn't available for purchase as of yet.
For licensing questions, you can call 1-800-426-9400 (select option 4), Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. (PST) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist.
Worldwide customers can use the Guide to Worldwide Microsoft Licensing Sites
http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/worldwide.aspx
to find contact information in their locations.

I show it RTM'd on April 19th. Microsoft will be releasing it later this month and it should appear on Microsoft's price list on June 1st:

I see it as an available download on the VLSC site. It does not label it as an RC or beta. I do not see license information. I can see that our current 2007 license is covered under Software Assurance. Why can't someone tell me whether
it would be available to SCE 2007 licenses purchased with Software Assurance? I'll call the number, but I usually get handed back and forth between Microsoft and the retailer. Thanks

Further contact with the reseller says I don't even need a product key, that I can just simply install it and be done. I doubted a licensed product works that way. I called the number from Yog Li's reply above and option 4 is for Microsoft
Partners only and not Volume License holders. I called (866) 230-0560 from the VLSC site and followed the prompts. I was told that the upgrade to SCE 2010 is available due to the current Software Assurance agreement. I asked for the product
keys since I couldn't find them on the VLSC site. The tech put me on hold for approximately 5 minutes, then confirmed that none are used with the new version. If audited, only the number of clients in use vs the number purchased
would be used. This seems like an odd way of licensing a product, but OK. IMO, this would be much easier for everyone involved if this was indicated in the purchasing/licensing section on the SCE 2010 website. Hopefully this will save
someone some time.
