Does SharePoint require enabling MSDTC security settings for SQL Server 2005/2008 on  Windows 2003/2008?
Hi, I have Installed SQL Server 2008 SP1 on Windows 2008 R2 Server and this SQL instance going to host Share point databases. On Windows 2003 Server with SQL Server 2005, I used to enable the Remote connections on MSDTC. But I'm NOT sure in which case, we need to enable these remote connection, and which case we do not require these security settings to be enabled. And Windows 2008 Server, I did NOT see this option at all and what to do here? To host Share point databases, dd we need to enable MSDTC secutiry settings Thanks

MSDTC security settings are *not* required for SharePoint databases. Good luck!Chris McNulty MCSE/MCTS/MSA/MVTS http://www.kma-llc.net | blog http://blogs.kma-llc.net/microknowledge | twitter @cmcnulty2000
