Does SSIS 2008 have wsdl's built in so that I can run a package through a web service?
I would like to know if SSIS 2008 has the out-of-the-box capability of running a package via a web service call on a completely different machine? Thanks in advance.

Hi I certainly have never seen this functionality. I've seen someone write their own web service (using something like .Net) in which they execute the package on the remote web server. there are several ways in which you can execute the SSIS package from a custom web service. No, there is no web service functionality OOB. Typical "remote execution" scenarios build from the following: Create a package. Create a SQL Agent job to execute the package. Call sp_start_job through a T-SQL call. Talk to me now on

If you really want to/have to use a web service, you could use the C# code in this post as a guide for the body of your web service http://www.codeproject.com/KB/database/CallSSISFromCSharp.aspxCraig Bryden - Please mark correct answers
