Does SQL 2008 R2 support WSS 3.0 (no service packs) ?
Guys, I need to migrate a load of WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007 DBs to SQL 2008 R2 Is this supported? The SharePoint farm is pretty much unpatched at present. Cheers, ConradConrad Goodman MCITP SA / MCTS: WSS3.0 + MOSS2007

My first concern would be that your SharePoint 2007 farm doesn't have the required service packs installed. As far as I know, Microsoft stopped supporting pre-SP2 SharePoint 2007 installations as of April 2010 - see http://blogs.technet.com/b/stefan_gossner/archive/2010/01/07/is-your-sharepoint-2007-farm-already-on-service-pack-2-if-not-read-this.aspx. Office SharePoint Server 2007 does support SQL Server 2008 R2, as long as you have SP2 installed. Please see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262485(office.12).aspx#section1 for more info on minimum software requirements for MOSS. HTH.Benjamin Athawes Twitter SharePoint Blog
