Does Reportviewer 1.0 ( VS 2005 ) works fine with SSRS 2008 ?
We Currently have SSRS 2005 and Reportviewer to display reports in our ASP.NET page. we are in process of migirating to SSRS 2008 . Based on our initial test we could not find any performance improvement in 2008 compared to 2005 .Our Asp.net application still uses Reportviewer 1.0 to display SSRS 2008 reports . My question are 1) Does SSRS 2008 really improves performance ? 2) Do i need to Reportviewer 2.0 for witnessing SSRS 2008 Performance improvement ? Cheers , Varun

Hi varunragul, There is an article that describes breaking changes in Reporting Services, please see: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143380(v=SQL.100).aspx The ReportViewer control in Visual Studio(VS) 2008 is similar to the VS 2005 SP1 ReportViewer control with additional bug fixes, wizards, and items like PDF compression. For more information about ReportViewer functionality in VS 2008, please refer to the blog below: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/bwelcker/archive/2007/11/26/younger-than-yesterday-reportviewer-in-vs-2008.aspx Thanks, Bin LongPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.
