SharePoint 2013 Team Site is published to internet. It is under web application port 80 and can be accessed via https (port 443)only. There is a document library under home page and it has pdf and word documents. Except android phones, all other devices can download these documents. The documents can be downloaded using android tablets also. Only the issue with Android phones, It says downloading and finally says failed to download

Please test the issue from other phones such as windows phone.

Did you recieve any error message when you couldn't download files?

Yes , There is an error message - Could not download.

I think Chrome on Andriod has few issues. Out of All, PDF display for SharePoint dont work however workaround is to use Firefox browser for android apps as default browser.

Could you upload documents from issue phones to SharePoint site?

I cannot reproduce the issue on my Android phone with its own WAP browser. Please check if there is any secure policy on the phone that might affect. Also, when it prompts for credentials, please check "Keep me signed in" option. Then switch to PC view and try downloading again.

I tried with default wap browser. It says - Starting download. Finally - download unsuccessful

The web application uses port 100, not 80.

So far I could tell that the issue is related to phone side, I suspect there is some secure policy that prevent downloading documents from SharePoint site. Could you check that in phone settings?

I wonder what do you mean by the account doesn't have option to upload. Did you remove it the option or you were delegated with specific permission?

Did you test the issue on Android phone with higher permission account?

When you download unsuccessfully, could you find error message in ULS log per timestamp?

Do you have firewall installed in your envrionment?

Sorry I meant, the user account has only read access to the document library (It is in production and published to internet for specific group). Yes there is firewall.  For the higher permission account users has also the same issue

From what I understand, users cannot download documents to all Android phones from one document library. Did you test the issue with other libraries in the current site? How about document libraries on other site collections?

If downloading is started from SharePoint site, then it will be logged in the ULS log. Could you please check ULS log and see if there is error message related?
