Hi -

I recently setup a brand new, shiny SharePoint 2013 farm, configured Office Web Apps and workflow manager.  The farm is setup with Windows Server 2012 R2 across the WFE, Search Server, as well as the OWA server.  I have the document preview working in libraries within my web app, but when I search for the same document, the preview doesn't attempt to show up in the search results.  Have I missed configuring something?

This should be in the 2013 setup,upgrade,administration and operations but I am not sure how to move it from one category to another - Can I do that?

Hi,

For your issue, try to do the following:

Make sure Silverlight is installed on machine which search performed. Go to http://www.silverlight.net/ and download Silverlight runtime

Run the SharePoint Configuration Wizard after setup the Office Web Application for SharePoint 2010.

Disable Loopback was the key:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896861

Hi Lisa - 

Thank you for your response.  Does loopback check need to be disabled on the OWA server? I made sure silverlight was working. 

I want to clarify - I am able to see document previews if I select '...' from within a library.  For some reason, the issue is isolated to the search results page.  The articles you provided point more towards a farm wide issue.
