Document meta data is lost between saves
We have a number of document libraries with meta data enforced using Content Types.
When the document is edited and saved some of the meta data is lost, and has to be re-entered. This seems to affect the choice field 'security classification'. All users seem to be getting the same problem.
I saw a thread mentioning that this could be due to a problem with the IE temporary cache, so I tried clearing all temporary files, but the problem still recurred.

Hi Ruth,
After looking into some internal cases, I found issue that metadata are lost when saving word document from a SharePoint document library in Office 2003 is coming
from a custom document library template. Seems that it can be fixed by adding ReadOnly="TRUE” to ContentType field.
Did you create custom library template that have metadata in content types?
Hope it helps.
Thanks & Regards.
