Document library trouble uploading documents
I am having an issue when I try uploading a document to my document library. The library has default columns that need to be populated.Approval is required in this libraryCheckout is NOT required When I upload the document the edit form prompts me to fill in the required properties, however when I put the column values in and press Check In the document appears to successfully be checked in but the values aren't saved to the library! If I then go in to edit the properties and fill them in again they save successfully. If I try to check in without filling in the required properties it will not allow me to save. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

Are you having any column/s of type 'Managed Metadata' in your library?Ram Prasad Meenavalli | MCTS SharePoint 2010 | MCPD SharePoint 2010

What do you mean by 'Managed Metadata'? I have actually managed to solve the issue. Turns out there was an issue with one of the site columns I was using (it was a yes/no checkbox). I have no idea what the issue was but the same issue was recreated in a clean library using the same column so when I narrowed it down I just deleted the column and replaced it with option buttons. Is there any reason that you can think of why this may occur?

Hi sudlev, The documents were checked in and saved data values successfully first time when I uploaded documents in my SharePoint Server with same Document Library settings (required columns, required Approval, not required Checkout and Checkbox column). I would like to suggest you to recreate another checkbox site column and add it to the Document Library, then upload document again. Or use the Option (radio button) column instead of Checkbox column if you didn't use multiple selections. ThanksDaniel Yang TechNet Community Support
