Document library folders over https doesn't work - but the rest does - how can?
I've installed sharepoint 2007 standard edition with SQL Server 2008.Have installed SSL and a certificate, did alternate mapping, and it works.But...whenever I install a document library, whether I do it from the server, or via the web, the library is createdand approachable.Whenever I create a folder within the library, the folder cannot display over the web as it leads to http://localhost/ while the url is configured for alternate mapping, and url's outside this folder , which also begin with http://localhost/ map properly. So there must be something configurable in the document library?Business Intelligence professional

Could you please paste your AAM? With which URL do you visit the document library folder? Does ISA server involved in your scenario?

Guyuming, what do you mean with AAM?We do not have ISA Server involved in the scenario. Our link is http://localhost/Reports/Forms/current.aspx locally.Normally this link alternates to https://www.oursite.com/reports/forms/current.aspx and this works. But when navigating to a specific folder things go wrong like thishttp://localhost/Reports/Forms/current.aspx?RootFolder=%2fRapportages%2fReports&FolderCTID=0x01200050F1ACAC8DC63840A695D9A5563DEA60&View=%7b9157D18C%2d1DA4%2d499B%2d8C57%2d2A0FCB68B41B%7dworks locallybut it doesn't alternately map at the webiste to change localhost to www.oursite.comBusiness Intelligence professional

Your alternate access mappings (AAM) are defined in Central Admin for web applications. You should post what you have configured as it could be a root cause for this issue.Dan Luciano - Sogeti USA - MCP, MCTS WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007 Configuration WSS 3.0 Applicaton Development

Hi Dan, I went to the global configuration to the alternate access mappings When i click http://localhost , the alternate address is https://www.mydomain.com It is defined as an extranet as I recently changed it from internet to extranet. And before and after this change behaviour is the same. I run reporting services integrated, when i run reporting services in a page viewer everything works fine and I can drill to a report and show it. When approaching the reports stored in the shared documents, via the view site content, i can not preview a report externally as it raises an error. It throws the following URL https://www.mydomain.com/_layouts/ReportServer/RSViewerPage.aspx?rv:RelativeReportUrl=/rapportages/reports/rapportages/offline/gauges/gallery_thermometer.rdl And shows up with the error : An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode. Well, it is configured for sharepoint integration so that is not the cause. It seems like once an url is embedded in a reporting services webpart, or surmounted in the sharepoint environment the alternate mapping doesn't work on a report. Business Intelligence professional

Thanks for your clear description. According to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee210710(SQL.105).aspx , in previous releases of Reporting Services, report server items were available from only the default SharePoint zone, which restricted the ability to access such items from other SharePoint zones. In this latest release of Reporting Services, you can use the alternate access mapping functionality in your SharePoint environment to access report server items from one or more of the following SharePoint zones: default, Internet, intranet, extranet, or custom. This is useful when you have a SharePoint environment that can be accessed by users from multiple zones. For example, your SharePoint site might be available to users from the Internet and an intranet.

I fail to see how to correct this issueand what does reporting services has to do with the problem. I have a similar problem where I published the Sharepoint site on isa server using a certificate and mapping alternate urs. When I open the documento library on https://mysite/comercial/Pipe%20Line/Forms/AllItems.aspx it works fine but if I try to open a folder in the library http://mysite/comercial/Pipe%20Line/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2fcomercial%2fPipe%20Line%2fPipe%202010&FolderCTID=&View=%7b57F7F82A%2d1579%2d4959%2dBDCC%2d7ACBFFAE9E7A%7d The connection gets refused. What is going on and how do I fix it. Thanks, Fábio Fabio Lima

At least I got it to work when using the pageviewer webpart instead of the reporting services webpart. The culprit without a doubt is that the reporting services webpart delivered with SQL 2008 is the same as SQL 2005 and so misses the point to work on multiple zones, that's what I guess. Hence, most of my users like the page viewer webpart better than the reporting services integrated webpart so I don't care too much about it anymore (although it would be better if MS resolved this)Business Intelligence professional
