Document library -- create view, not all columns are shown
Hi, I am trying to create the same document library that was previously created by someone else. I added the columns under the column section, and content types to the library, however, when I try to create a view, 2 fields are missing: Is there anything I could miss out? Thanks in advance.

Actually, I just found out the old document library has viess probably created by SharePoint Designer, as when I look at the setting, it has a path point to a aspx file. I tried to copy that aspx file to my new document library, however, it doesn show under View All Site Content |Views...How can I link the aspx file my view. I know when creating a view, there is an option to create it via SharePoint Designer, however, when I select that option, it asked me to download the SharePoint Designer, but I have already had 2010 version installed...So, what can I do now. Please help. Thanks in advance, your help would be greatly appreciated.

you can first open SPD and then point to the site to open from where you can select your list and create the view. I havent used SPD 2010 but if you are using MOSS 2007 i would recommend using SPD 2007 which is free to download.

Thanks, I managed to open the SPD 2010, but it is all done on another server, I guess something is corrupted on my development machine... Anyway, I created the view using SPD, however, again, I still can't see those 2 missing columns listed when I open the view setting...Any idea?

Actually, I figure that out, I was looking for the Approval Status and Approver Comments columns and in fact, I have to turn on the versioning setting. And they are there. I am good to go. Thanks for all your help.
