Document Library requiring check-in but not set to
Hello,Has anyone seen this before. I have a document library that I have created for users to upload documents. What I am exprierencing is that when I client goes to upload a document and then fill out associated metadata, both the editform and the file are set to have been checked out. The edit form (used to populate metadata) has a button called Check-In. But the library is not setup to require check-in or check-out. The uploaded file is also set to have been checked out however it was only just uploaded. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate your help.Sincerely,Tim

I have noticed that this appears to be happening when I set a column to be required. I have never seen this before but if I set required columns to be not required then all works just fine. This is really a mind game. I have never seen this behavior before myself.Any thoughts would be apprcieated.Sincerely,Tim

Perhaps I could just turn off required fields and use javascript to validate those fields(?). Anyone have any comments on this idea? I am searching about this now...Sincerely,Tim

Library settings>Versioning Settings Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited? turn to "no" simple as it is.
