Document Library Permission - Can't access to document library
Hi, My team is trying to set up a SharePoint site to centralize all the reports instead of sending out mass email. I am new to sharepoint and I am still test driving on our site. I created a document library on the site, but while I was testing the setup of permission, I accidentally deleted the "site owner" from the permission list of the document library. I am the site owner and i figure there is a way to either resume the permission or simply just delete the document library as i have nothing valuable in it yet. But I don't seem to find the right way of doing so. Right now I can't access to the library at all. My sharepoint site version: 12.0.0.6335

Are you able to access the Document library? and get to the Document Library settings page. if yes you can go to Permissions and under actions there is a Inherit Permissions which will set the permissions to inherit from the Site again. You should be able to access the library settings using a farm administrator account. HTH Nagesh S Days and years do not mean anything to me. Moments shared are frozen in their time frame. Hi Tan, Thanks to share our post in the forum. For the problem that you encountered, is that because the document’s capacity that you create is too large? Maybe you can change the document library size to be smaller. Or if it possible that you have changed the default views so it doesn’t show anything? Maybe you can create a new view. You may also try to open with windows explorer to find whether the file exists. And the followed link can give you a hand: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/tfsversioncontrol/thread/e4cc7ff6-ce56-402d-92ea-0a08cf63acd7. Hope this could help you! Leo

Hi, You can use site collection administrator account to access the library, if it is not possible and it is a test environment, just increase the permission level of any existing group(e.g Site Members) to "Full Control" whose entry you have not deleted from document library permission list and add yourself in this group. Now you can access the library and change the permission to inherit from parent again (to get back "site owner" group). Now change the permission level of group (Site Members) back to the original. Hope this helps. Regards.
