Scenario/issue details:Document Library 1 has a choice field within it that when it was created was set as being an optional field and added to all content types. The field is updated to have some values and a default value. Then the content type setting for this field is changed from optional to hidden. Which works well.The issue is that if I then go back to the field and change the option values and/or the default value (seems to be more when the default is changed) the content type setting that I had originally changed to be hidden reverts back to optional?As a side effect of this, if the document template (template.dotx) that is associated with this content type is used in between changing the field default values it remembers what the previous default value was and prompts the user to re-select the correct option (when creating a new document). The problem with this is that if the field should be hidden the user can not update the field within the Document Information Panel to the correct value.Within SharePoint Designer you can reset the template.dotx file to site definition which does appear to resolve this issue or you can upload a new template. This is however less than idea and doesnt always seem to work?Looks like a SharePoint bugQuestion:Are these known issues as I havent been able to find anything on these issues anywhere?btw the environment I am testing this functionality on is MOSS 2007 SP2 + August Cumulative Update
