Document Library Alerts Email doesnt work ?
Sharepoint Document Library Alert is generating a first email saying you have successfull created alert for Documents library,But it fails to receive the email through alert when a new item is created or modified in document library.
I checked the timer job Status on the webapplication ( immediate alerts on Web Front ent & application server progress is 100%).
I also reset using Stsadm -set property alerts-enabled ,job -immediate-alert
But still i am not receving the email through alert when a new item is created or modified in document library.
My Sharepoint designer workflow email work fine.
So can any please update me with soultion for alert email issue for moss2007 document library.

I have never seen this issue before but here are my settings I have selected that do work for all changes to a library/list
Change Type: All Changes
Send Alerts for These Changes: Anything Changes
When to send Alerts: Send e-mail immediately
You can validate these settings along with any other alerts you have within that site by ...
1. Browing the the SharePoint site hosting the document library in question
2. Selecting the dropdown my your name in the top right hand corner
2. Selecting My Settings
3. My Alerts
Hope this helps

Its weird.
If Email works for workflow, no issues with SMTP.
Did you check the id which you are trying to register for the alerts has valid email address, I would also try to validate this by adding alerts for couple of users.
If it still fails, I would check the SharePoint logs for the clue.

The SharePoint timer job 'immediate alerts' runs the 'immediate' and 'scheduled alerts'.
If you look within the job definitions, has this ran successfully?Regards, Aaron www.aaron-rendell.co.uk
