Do we have any known BUG with reset page number on group in 2008 R2 ?
Hello ,
Can some one please confirm that "resest page number on group" has any/no issues with 2008 r2 version ?
Does page reset on group work appropriately with reports upgraded from RS2005 to RS2008R2 ?
Our Customers keep complaining that the reset page number is'nt working after reports got converted from 2005 to 2008R2 .
Some one have a clear idea if this is a known BUG on Microosft connect ?
Thanks in advance !

Hi Rajkumar,
If we are using Reporting Services 2005 or 2008, we need to use custom code to reset page number on group. Please refer to the blog below:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/chrishays/archive/2006/01/05/resetpagenumberongroup.aspx
In Reporting Services 2008 R2, we can use the new feature to reset page numbers. For more information, please see:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/robertbruckner/archive/2010/04/25/report-design-reset-page-number-on-group.aspx
In your case, we can try to re-design the report that uses the new feature in Reporting Services 2008 R2 to reset page numbers on group.

Thanks So much Bin Long for your concerns towards my postings . yes i know the way to reset page numbers on group change in RS2008R2 . I'm just curious if we have any issues with the same , i mean even if the page number is resetted on group
do we have any limitation so as page numbers not displaying correctly ??
Our customer compalins that he has an issue with one of his report as specified below : ( i did not have a chance to look into the .rdl file yet )
Please note that on all the three pages, same patient information exists however page numbers are displayed as 1 of 2, 2of
2 and then it again starts as 1of 1.
Expected page numbers are 1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3 of 3 .
So i was just curious to know priorly responding to him
1) if we have any known limitations with page resetting on group .
2) Does page reset on group have any known issues with upgraded reports from 2005 to 2008R2 .
3) A report having 5 groups and if it is resetted on Group 2 will this work accordingly ??
Thanks in advance for all your time .Rajkumar Yelugu

user evaluates all report pages once , over-writing new R2 page by page rendering architecture ?? so as to reset page no: on groups appear correctly both in print layout and PDF export ?? Thanks in advance !Rajkumar Yelugu

I resolved(work around) this issue by inserting rows (outside group) at the end of the last row . I kept on inserting the rows till i was in the last parent group.

I am having the exact same problem as Mandeep and his workaround does work (thanks Mandeep) even tho my client now has 4 extra rows at the end of each group. The report was developed in 2008 R2 using the
ResetPageNumber to True and BreakLocation to Between.
Bin- This really does seem like a defect. Can you provide any further information. Thanks
