Do I need secondary site in each location where PXE boot is required?
Hi Guys, I am working with a client to setup SCCM 2007 R3 environment. There are 6 locations. Location1 : 2500 users Location2: 500 users Location3: 300 users Location4: 500 users Location5: 200 users Location6: 50 users Now usually I would install a primary site at location1 and secondary sites at location2 and location4. All the sites have 10Mb Internet connections. But this client needs PXE boot and image deployment in each location. Does this mean that I need secondary site in each location? I think I do but just wanted to see if I am missing anything. I am relatively new to SCCM. Thanks, Palwinder Palwinder Singh

I'd go for secondary sites. You could also place just a PXE SP at location 6 (which is a site system of the primary), but that's not a good idea though.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Also look at the limitation osD PXE point http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680869.aspx The maximum number of PXE service points is dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, network speed and the volume of PXE requests. As a result, the following is offered as a guideline: Up to 10 PXE service points per site, with a maximum of 75 PXE service points per primary site database. Note Configuration Manager 2007 secondary sites use the database server of the parent site.
