Do I have to fill in the password every time I make changes on the Search Service Settings page?
Sorry for the stupid question, but this part of SharePoint admin interface makes me confused. On some pages ( in particular Central Administration > Operations > Services on Server > Office SharePoint Server Search Service Settings) among others settings there are accounts settings with password changing fields. If I'm making some changes on those pages not related to an account, do I have to fill in a password? What happens if I leave it empty? Sorry again and thanks in advise. Forgot to mention, it's SharePoint 2007. Vitaly Litovchenko

Hi Vitaly Litovchenko, NO, I don't think that. Password will required if you want to configure the service with another account ID. If you are configuring with same user account then it is not required. (This information is based on my knowledge). If some one is having any doubt please correct me.Cheers, Hemendra-MCTS "Yesterday is just a memory,Tomorrow we may never see"
