Distribution Points Not Updating when new WIMs are copied to Server

Hello everyone, not sure if this is the correct place to place this question, if its wrong I apologize.

I am having an issue when I update my WIMs on the server.  Here is the scenerio:

I create a new reference image with MDT, then copy it to the SCCM server-Using same name. I select both Redistribute under Content Locations under proprieties, and I also select Update Distribution Point.  After a few seconds, I refresh and I can see my content status go from Green-Success to Yellow-In Progress.  about 15 minutes later, I see it go green-Success and the Last update changes.

ere is my delima, I deploy that image and it is the old one.  I go onto the DP, and if i can find the PSXXXXX for that image, it has the old one.

So can someone tell me how to force it to update.  I have these images embedded in alot of task sequences and don't want to delete and create.

Thanks

Redistribute does not touch the sources. It just copies the binaries that *are already in the content lib* to the DPs. You would have to use 'update DPs'. But I won't recommend that. Create a new OS image in ConfigMgr instead of "recycling" an existing one.

I concur with Torsten -- there is no real advantage to using the same OS Image package and at least one drawback: while the package is being updated, it's unusable.

If you feel you must use the same OS image package, make sure you open the properties of the package and select the Reload button on the Images tab. Then, as Torsten mentioned, update the Update DP option to cause ConfigMgr to first compare the content of the package and then copy and distribute any new files.
