Distributed applications - Default LOB template
Hi, The scenario is that a user responsible for a LOB application wants to have a view of that application. So I create a distributed application from the LOB template, using a database and a website. If I then shutdown the server hosting the website, the website component becomes grey. This means I don't get an alert from that DA. How can I make that DA fail and get a critical status if someone for example restart the server? Regards Olof

Well those failures when rebooting will come into scom as agent heartbeat failures and so on. But you can also start up a web application monitor. Use the web application monitoring template in the authoring console and use different servers as watchers for that website. You can add the watchers to the DA and will complain that the url doesnt work.Bob Cornelissen - BICTT (My BICTT Blog) - Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Recipient
