We have a Unix server which sends emails to a discussion library on our SharePoint site. For some reason when the sent email is posted to the discussion, it posts two or three duplicates. The only thing different between the emails once posted is the title, which is always the email subject + an appended number or guid which SharePoint comes up with automatically. The number or guid is the only difference in the title. I have watched the email come into the drop folder on the SharePoint server, and there really is only one email coming in, but when SharePoint processes the email it posts two or three times. Well, not really a solution to the problem with the discussion list, but the customer said he was fine with a document library (which does not have this problem) so I am using that now instead. No other solution was found...Michael Ruberg - www.landofsharepoint.com
