Disabling the Distributed Cache - Resolving Error Message

Dear All

I have been told by one of our webpart suppliers that their websites are not compatible with the Distributed Cache and therefore we have to disable/delete this service which I have done.

The Event Log of our server is swamped with the following error message appearing every 5 minutes or so. All the solutions that I have found involve repairing/restarting the Distributed Cache but I am unable to do this.

The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.LMTRepopulationJob (ID 789ddab6-9aba-4d95-a0f8-a3a21e559580) threw an exception. More information is included below.

Unexpected exception in FeedCacheService.IsRepopulationNeeded: Unable to create a DataCache. SPDistributedCache is probably down..

Is there anything else I can do to resolve this error message?

Many thanks

Daniel

Dear All

After chasing again, the webpart supplier today confirmed that Distributed Cache is now supported by their webparts. Hurrah! I can resolve the error.

Thanks

Dan
