Disabling SCCM Client temporarily
Is there a way to tempolarily prevent the SCCM client from running any software deployments or windows updates? The reason I ask is we have a requirement to have a presentation mode where users can put their laptop into this mode and it will prevent things like screen saver and powersaving settings. This is all working well however we would like to also be able to prevent SCCM from doing any windows updates or from running any mandatory advertisments during this period of time. What would be the best way to achive this? I have thought about stopping the SCCM Client Service and restarting it after but I thought there has to be a more elegant way of doing things. The argument to use Maintanance windows to do all these installations after hours unfortunatly is not possible in our environment as most of our users have laptops and sometimes are working at all odd hours of the night.

Thanks for the update. I will go with disabling the service and obviously some testing around it.
